Michael established Hazen’s Hydraulic Analysis and Modeling Group and serves as the group leader. Michael specializes in hydraulic modeling and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities. His holistic approach involves treatment processes, and chemical system designs in treatment plants and hydraulics, surge, and water quality analysis and modeling in water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Michael was a Stollery Scholar, Executive-in-Residence, Engineer-in-Residence for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of University of Alberta, Alberta, Canada, and has been appointed as an Adjunct Associate Teaching Professor and Adjunct Professor of the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, NCSU, Raleigh, NC.
