Terry has decades of experience in guiding water and wastewater utility leadership in the art of effectively communicating with elected officials, impacted community members, customers, regulatory agencies, and the news media. She began her career as a reporter and is skilled at developing strategic messaging to inform community engagement and outreach campaigns. During her career, she has collaborated with technical experts in the water and wastewater industry to understand complex challenges, then translate the issues for non-technical audiences to gain public acceptance of difficult issues.
