Susheera Pochiraju, PhD
Assistant Engineer II

Susheera specializes in detecting and treating bacteria and chemical compounds that influence the taste and odor (T&O) of drinking water. She also has expertise in a host of other drinking water subjects, including treatment design, source water characterization, algal blooms, analytical methods, and bioassays. For her PhD, Susheera investigated novel T&O compounds in 18 drinking water utilities. The resulting research was published in high-impact journals including Water Research and AWWA Water Science and won her the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology. She joined Hazen in 2021.
