Hazen Sponsors ACE Mentoring Scholarship

The ACE Mentoring Program teaches students about environmental engineering and the work that Hazen does. At a recent session, the students were asked to design and build their own water gravity distribution system.

The Hazen NYC mentors (Abigail Farrell, Caitlin Fedio, Larry Ge, Serena Takada, and Joanna Sullivan) are part of a larger team of mentors from a broad range of professional disciplines. They are partnered with local high school students, whom they meet with biweekly, to speak about their fields of work and to help the students develop a year-long final project.

(NEW YORK, NY - December 18, 2018) - Hazen and Sawyer has generously pledged $4,000 to a college scholarship to support a student participating in the ACE Mentoring Program.

ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) is a nationwide program that helps mentor high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in design and construction.

The scholarship recipient will be a student who demonstrates excellence and great potential in ACE disciplines and plans to pursue a four-year college degree in engineering. Particular preference will be given to a student with an interest in one of Hazen’s core engineering disciplines.

In sponsoring a scholarship, Hazen and Sawyer is joining a long list of industry leaders to help ensure that students interested in the design and build field receive financial assistance to pursue their dreams and to help secure the future of the industry.

The scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2019.
