Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) has four groundwater membrane facilities utilizing reverse osmosis and nanofiltration. IRWD performed the process of data cleanup and normalization of RO data through a series of manufacturer-provided Excel spreadsheets, which was cumbersome and time-consuming for staff and prone to potential errors. It was estimated that IRWD staff spent approximately 10 hours per plant per month to process a month's data. With four plants, this amounted to 40 hours per month per person spent only on data processing.
