Hazen Names Rama Rani Senior Associate

Ms. Rani has extensive knowledge includes modeling for resiliency, flood protection, water supply, riverine and coastal flood hazard analysis as well as municipal, county, and state-wide watershed planning and management.

(ORLANDO, FL - May 3, 2021) - Hazen and Sawyer has announced the appointment of Rama Rani PG, GISP as Senior Associate, based out the Orlando, FL office.

During her distinguished career, Ms. Rani has worked in both public agencies and private consulting. Her extensive knowledge includes modeling for resiliency, flood protection, water supply, riverine and coastal flood hazard analysis as well as municipal, county, and state-wide watershed planning and management. In addition to her modeling work, she has conducted complex hydrogeologic and site investigations to determine the extent and causes of non-permitted soil / groundwater contamination and served as lead oversight of field activities.

In a previous role, Ms. Rani supported various types of projects in the Hydraulics & Hydrology Bureau at South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). She is a pragmatic modeler with extensive hands-on modeling experience at regional, sub-regional and local scale projects covering simple water budgets to detailed integrated models with a variety of modeling tools. Additionally, she was the technical lead of the SFWMD’s Emergency Modeling Team (EMT), assisting the agency with operational decision-making using modeling during emergencies.

Ms. Rani received her MS in Environmental Sciences from Ohio University. She is a licensed Professional Geologist in the state of Florida and a GIS Professional.
