Dr. Ben Stanford Named Associate Vice President
(DENVER, CO – March 1, 2019) – Dr. Ben Stanford has returned to Hazen and Sawyer as an Associate Vice President in the Firm’s Denver office.
Dr. Stanford will be supporting drinking water, water reuse, and utility management projects across the country, with emphasis on the Firm’s clients in the Western United States.
“It was a difficult decision to leave the many talented people at my last employer, and I wish all of my colleagues there the best of luck,” said Dr. Stanford. “However, it feels great to be back with the team here and we are all energized about what the future holds for us.”
Dr. Stanford previously spent eight years at Hazen, most recently as Senior Associate/Director of Applied Research. He has extensive experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to potable water reuse, water quality, and treatment as both Project Manager and Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI, and he is an internationally recognized expert in water chemistry, water quality, and trace contaminant research.
He is a co-author of the World Health Organization’s Direct Potable Reuse Guidelines and serves as a technical expert on the AWWA Candidate Contaminant List Technical Advisory Workgroup. He also serves on multiple technical and advisory committees for the Water Research Foundation across potable reuse, disinfection byproducts, trace contaminants, and cyanotoxins, to name a few. Dr. Stanford has over 50 Peer-Reviewed Publications and his work has been cited over 1,200 times in other peer-reviewed publications.
