State-of-the-art Treatment Process Modeling Among 21 Presentations at WEFTEC
(NEW YORK, NY – August 20, 2010) – At WEFTEC in October 2010, Dr. Alonso Griborio and Ron Latimer of Hazen and Sawyer will co-chair a workshop titled “Combining the Power of Whole-Plant Simulators and CFD for the Dynamic Modeling of WWTP.” This workshop will cover the state of the art in dynamic process simulation modeling, clarifier modeling using dynamic CFD simulations, and the linking of the two to perform dynamic modeling of the activated sludge/secondary clarifier system.
This workshop will also examine different topics related to the application of CFD modeling and offer the different point of view of researchers and users in the wastewater industry. Participants will learn how to set up a CFD model of a clarifier and how to utilize the output, along with field data, to run a desktop dynamic analysis for a whole plant simulation.
In addition to the workshop, Hazen and Sawyer will present at least twenty papers on a variety of wastewater-related topics during the conference. The full schedule of presentations is available here.
WEFTEC is presented by the Water Environment Federation, a not-for-profit technical and educational organization with 36,000 individual members and 75 affiliated Member Associations representing water quality professionals around the world. WEFTEC features the latest in water quality research, technology and services, and is a leading source for water quality developments, research, regulations, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies.
Since our founding in 1951, Hazen and Sawyer has focused on two things: providing safe drinking water and controlling water pollution. Our range of services encompasses the planning, design, and construction management of water and wastewater-related projects – from clean water treatment, storage, and distribution to wastewater and stormwater collection, treatment, and reuse.
