Kent O’Brien Joins Hazen and Sawyer’s Water Resources Practice
(SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 23, 2016) – Hazen and Sawyer is proud to announce the addition of Kent O’Brien PG, CEG, to their Water Resources practice. He will be providing leadership in the growing groundwater resources market in the Western United States.
“Kent’s broad experience in groundwater, wells and water supply planning, hydrogeology, and design will be a tremendous benefit to the Firm. We are very excited that Kent is joining our team here at Hazen and Sawyer,” said Kevin Alexander, Vice President.
Mr. O’Brien has 26 years of experience in the planning and implementation of strategies to resolve groundwater supply problems. He combines hands-on experience in design/construction with extensive experience in field operating procedures and data collection programs. He also has comprehensive knowledge of water treatment pilot testing, drilling techniques, well design, well installation, aquifer tests, and groundwater monitoring programs. He has worked throughout California, with recent projects varying from analysis of groundwater impacts from an open pit mine in Northern California to designing injection wells in Southern California.

Mr. O’Brien is a registered professional geologist and certified engineering geologist in California. He has a both a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Geology from San Diego State University. He is also is a co-inventor on a patented device for measuring soil moisture and a co-inventor on an approach for hydraulic control and treatment of contaminated aquifers.
