Dr. Ben Stanford Presents at Water Seminar in South Africa
(NEW YORK, NY – November 26, 2012) Hazen and Sawyer’s Ben Stanford, Ph D presented a series of workshops and lectures during an international conference on Water Reuse for Drinking Purposes in Pretoria and Durban, South Africa.
The four-day conference, held October 8-11, 2012, was sponsored by the South African Department of Water Affairs, the Water Institute of SA, and the Water Research Commission. Among the highlights was a workshop on Water Reuse and Recycling co-presented by Stanford and Professor George Tchobanaglous that was attended by more than 200 individuals from Southern Africa.
Stanford, the Director of Applied Research at Hazen and Sawyer, also presented sessions on Emerging Contaminants, Environmental and Public Health, and Water Reuse in the Eastern United States.
The conference opened a public comment period on water reuse and how best to incorporate water reuse in to the South African national water supply strategy.
