Water Resources Practice Leader


Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a licensed professional engineer to lead its water resources practice. The role entails coordinating the activities of a diverse group of water professionals across the country that are actively engaged in water supply planning and design to secure an increasing number of water resources-related projects and further establish Hazen’s reputation as a premiere water engineering firm. In addition to coordinating the activities of the group and active involvement in business development efforts, this individual will also regularly engage in and lead water resources-related projects and pursuits.

Candidates for the position must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in water supply planning, design and construction management, and a Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering is desired. The candidate must possess excellent technical skills, particularly in the areas of water supply planning, heavy civil design and hydraulics, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience successfully performing and managing a wide range of projects across the municipal, federal and private sectors is desired.

Project experience must include a mix of assignments across the water resources spectrum, including demand forecasting and water supply planning and modeling, source water protection plan preparation, dam rehabilitation and new dam design, and water conveyance projects on both the small and large scale. The candidate must be able to lead a team of water professionals with varying levels of skill and experience to execute project assignments and secure new work.
