South Central Regional Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Board Selects Hazen and Sawyer
(HOLLYWOOD, FL – January 25, 2010) – The South Central Regional Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Board (SCRWT&DB) in Delray Beach (Florida) has retained Hazen and Sawyer to provide general consulting engineering services for wastewater, reuse water, and deep injection well systems.
The firm has served the SCRWT&DB on projects since the 1980s. This contract will be managed from Hazen and Sawyer’s local Boca Raton office. Professional services to be provided include permitting, construction management, funding assistance and general wastewater services related to activated sludge, odor abatement, instrumentation, process control, injection wells, and ocean outfalls.
The South Central Regional Board was formed in 1974 as a special District to treat the wastewater in the South Florida cities of Delray Beach and Boynton Beach. Every day more than 17 million gallons of used water and sewage from local homes, hotels, schools, churches, and businesses is disinfected in the 24-mgd plant and safely returned to the environment.
In 2008, SCRWT&DB received the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Domestic Wastewater Plant Operations Excellence Award in recognition of outstanding operation, maintenance, and compliance of the plant designed by Hazen and Sawyer.
Since our founding in 1951, Hazen and Sawyer has focused on two things: providing safe drinking water and controlling water pollution. Our range of services encompasses the planning, design, and construction management of water and wastewater-related projects – from clean water treatment, storage, and distribution to wastewater and stormwater collection, treatment, and reuse.
