David L. Haas Joins Hazen and Sawyer
(ATLANTA, GA – January 9, 2014) – Hazen and Sawyer announced today the appointment of David L. Haas, P.E., as Senior Associate in the Firm’s Atlanta office.
Mr. Haas has over 28 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of water treatment facilities. His experience includes providing guidance to project teams on developing innovative solutions for all aspects of water treatment, including low-cost expansions and upgrades to existing facilities, as well as new facilities using the latest treatment technologies such as membrane filtration and ultraviolet light disinfection to ensure safe drinking water. He is a nationally-recognized expert in the evaluation of alternatives to chlorine gas and implementation of bulk-delivered and on-site generated sodium hypochlorite systems.
Mr. Haas received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Environmental Engineering from the University of Louisville, where his graduate research focused on reduction of disinfection byproducts. He is actively engaged in both national and regional industry associations and committees, including AWWA’s Water Treatment Facilities Design and Construction Committee and GAWP’s Water Treatment Committee.
