Chamindra Dassanayake Named Manager of Southwest Region
(DALLAS, TX – October 16, 2013) – Hazen and Sawyer announced today the appointment of Chamindra (“CD”) Dassanayake PhD, PE, as Vice President and Regional Manager of the Firm’s Southwest Region.
Dassanayake brings more than 18 years of water-related engineering and management experience to his new role at Hazen and Sawyer. He has acted as project manager and technical leader for major wastewater projects throughout the state of Texas, and as technical advisor for wastewater projects nationwide. Most recently, he served as project manager and technical lead for an ongoing BNR upgrade at the City of Dallas’ 200-mgd Central Wastewater Treatment Plant and a 14 belt press (185 DT/d) dewatering facility for the City’s Southside Wastewater Treatment Plant. His areas of expertise include all facets of water/wastewater project delivery including process design, pilot studies, process optimization, detailed design, construction management, start-up/commissioning, and project management.

Dassanayake received a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and Applied Mathematics, and both a Masters and PhD. in Environmental Engineering, all from the University of Notre Dame. He will be based in Hazen and Sawyer’s Dallas office, overseeing operations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
