Hazen and Sawyer fosters a work environment low on bureaucracy and high in creativity.

We are an employee-owned firm with almost 800 people in 31 locations across the country and abroad, all working to help our clients protect public health and the environment. Our primary focus is on planning, designing, and overseeing construction of environmental infrastructure – water, wastewater, and stormwater management.

Throughout our history, our mission has remained constant – provide top-quality, client-focused environmental services. To do this, we endeavor to recruit the best people, provide them with challenging, interesting, and creative assignments, and furnish them the tools they need to succeed.

We keep our ideas fresh, creative, and innovative with a collaborative, open-door atmosphere. Our project teams typically include technical staff with a wide variety of expertise – fertile ground for rewarding idea-sharing. Less experienced staff tend to contribute to a number of projects, giving them the opportunity to learn, gather technical expertise, and experience a variety of challenges. More experienced staff tend to bear greater responsibility for fewer projects, displaying project leadership and deepening their level of expertise.

Our mentoring program helps newly-hired junior engineering staff assimilate easily into our firm. We have a more experienced engineer work one-on-one with the new hire as they adapt to their work environment, and provide technical and management guidance, where needed.

Outside the office, from organized sports leagues to international food festival competitions, bowling and golf outings, Hazen and Sawyer’s employees have fun together. We also have picnics, holiday parties throughout the year, and other activities.

Our talented and diverse staff includes a wide spectrum of engineering and scientific disciplines, along with experts in the business-related aspects of utility management. You may also be interested in working in other areas of our firm, such as Design/Drafting, Marketing, Graphics, Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, and other administrative roles.
